The VAFA is waiting on an appeal on AFL Victoria’s decision to reject the bid of Southern Dragons to join the Association for 2013 and beyond.
The Southern Dragons applied to move to the VAFA from the Southern Football League but had their initial request rejected by AFL Victoria last week.
Southern Dragons, who if successful would play under the name of the Dragons Football Club, would be welcome to join the Association in Division 4 of the competition.
The VAFA is hopeful of a decision early next week so that fixtures for Division 4 can be prepared to cater for the possibility of an 11th team in the section.
