Former VAFA umpire Jordan Bannister reaches another milestone in his umpiring career when he officiates at the NAB Cup Grand Final between Carlton and Brisbane tonight at Etihad Stadium.
The former Blue and Bomber spent time during his player to umpire transition period umpiring in the VAFA before breaking through to be a regular AFL umpire in 2012.
Bannister wrote an article about the transition from a player to an umpire for online sports website Back Page Lead where he talked about the understanding he has for players having been one himself.
Any players that have had one injury too many and are looking to transition to becoming an umpire should contact Brian Goodman at the VAFA ([email protected]) or on 9537 6700.
Once again the VAFA is proud to continue to provide the VFL, then AFL with umpires and congratulate Jordan on his appointment tonight.
