Old Scotch returned to the winners list defeating Old Carey by 41 points. Old Carey got to within 14 points late in the game but Scotch kicked away. Lach Hill kicked five goals in the win, whilst Old Carey remain without a win in 2013. Old Xaverians welcomed Beaumaris to Premier football with a thumping 111 point win, with 11 Xavs players kicking goals.
Nick Corp kicked another seven goals at the Trott to help Collegians to a 77 point win over Uni Blues. St Bedes/Mentone Tigers won at home, defeating the visiting St Bernard’s by nine goals. Whilst the top of the table clash at University Oval between Uni Blacks and De La Salle was a low scoring encounter with the margin never much more than a couple of goals. Blacks inflicted a first loss of the season on De La Salle. Both sides share top spot on the ladder at 5-1.
In Premier B Seb Nicolosi kicked six goals to help Old Trinity retain their unbeaten start to the year as the T’s account for Caulfield Grammarians by 35 points. Keegan Stewart bagged seven for the Fields. Fitzroy are still winless after they fell 19 points short of Old Haileyburians.
Tom Seccull kicked five goals for OM’s in their nine point win over Parkdale Vultures. St Kevin’s had a 40 point win over an improving Werribee. Phil Edgar kicked five goals for SKOBs. AJAX had a stumble when they fell short of Old Brighton by 47 points. Daniel Anthony kicked six goals and Michael Dewar five goals the Tonners as AJAX falls back into the pack chasing Old Trinity.
Premier C’s top of the table clash lived up to the hype with just a goal separating Monash Blues and Marcellin. The Blues were triumphant by that straight kick with five goals from Cosgriff to help them. Monash are now 6-0 and a game clear of Mazenod who have moved to second. The Nodders do so on the back of a close five point win over Old Camberwell.
The old tactic of changing the coach has worked for Oakleigh as they secured their first win of the season down at Peninsula. The Krushers won by 45 points as Tolongs kicked five goals in the win. That leaves NOBs St Partrick’s as the sole side in the section without a win after they went down to Old Ivanhoe by 104 points. Zachary Keane kicked five goals for the Hoes who steady their season at 3-3.
