ROUND 11 – DIVISION 1-4

In Division 1 the race for second is one of the more interesting battles in all of the VAFA. The reason we only offer up second place is because Hampton Rovers continued their unbeaten run, extending it to 11 from 11 after they beat Glen Eira by 109 points. 
The Rovers were never troubled in a lopsided top versus bottom match up, Adam Power kicked 8 of his sides 23 goals for the day. 
In contrast to the above margin, Williamstown and Bulleen Templestowe might be two of those teams chasing second spot. It was the CY’s who prevailed over the Bullants by just one point. Ben Gray kicked 8 for the CY’s which was enough to stop a rampant Bulleen Templestowe who kicked 7 goals in the final quarter, just falling short. 
Jordan Tabakman booted six goals for Ormond to help them defeat a disappointing Old Geelong by 25 points. 
MHSOB re-ignited their season with a 44 point win over Old Mentonians at the High School. Lachlan Evans booted five for the victors. 
In another classic match – also in the race for second spot, Whitefriars held on to defeat Prahran Assumption by the solitary point at Donvale. The Friars held on as an Adam Sleight (6 goals) inspired Two Blues charged home. 
Another power forward in Sab Ciavola booted seven goals for Old Eltham in their Division 2 match against Monash Gryphons. The Turtles saluting by 57 points. 
St John’s continued their push for a finals berth, comfortably beating Ivanhoe by 86 points. Scott kicked five goals for the victorious Jocs. 
St Mary’s Salesian had a 19 point win over Old Paradians in their match at Ferndale Park. 
South Melbourne Districts got the Therry Penola hearts racing as they came home with a wet sail only to fall 3 points short of the Lions. 
Yarra Valley had an 85 point win over Emmaus St Leos with eight goals from Simon Yeo. 
Division 3’s St Francis Xavier are becoming a real challenger to alter the established views that the section is a two horse race. 
St Francis Xavier defeated Albert Park by 34 points with Dimitri Dimakopoulos booting five goals in the win. 
Kew were too good for Aquinas, defeating the home side by 32 points out in Ringwood. 
Elsternwick won a cracking contest against UHS-VU by 11 points. Temming’s five goals were not enough for the visitors. 
Power House and Swinburne Uni played out a draw in Albert Park. A cracking contest had the Razorbacks in front by a point at the last and both sides managing three goals each in the final term, it was the extra Power House behind that quarter that levelled it up. 
In the second biggest upset of the day (Oakleigh defeating Monash Blues just beats this), South Mornington have stunned Richmond Central in the battle of the sashes. Gascoigne’s 7 goals the inspiration for the Tigers 22 point win over the Snakes. 
Division 4 had it’s own share of drama with West Brunswick, just holding on to defeat Box Hill North by 5 points. 
Point Cook had an even closer win, holding on to defeat the Dragons by just two points away from home. 
In the battle for top spot, Hawthorn jumped out of the gates fastest and were never caught as they defeated Eley Park Sharks by 38 points. Brown and Rossoukas both on the end of five goals for the Hawks. 
Norther Blues thrashed Manningham Cobras by 85 points whilst North Brunswick did likewise to Mt Lilydale – the final margin 67 points with Gallagher kicking five for the Bulls.
