DIVISION 4 LIVE BLOG OF THE MEEHAN MEDAL COUNT

Round 18:
Congratulations to David Tremewen who wins the OJ Meehan Medal as the Best and Fairest in Division 4. Hopefully this is not the only medal he collects this  year with the Hawks still chasing the ultimate glory. Second place was Dean Calcedo from Northern Blues who finished 6 votes further back. Daniel Burton from Point Cook has finished 3rd.

Round 17 saw Hawthorn square off against Northern Blues but neither of the top two could poll. That means with a round left to go Tremewen has won from Calcedo. Ed Guy polled the three votes for the Hawks. Burton picked up one in Point Cook’s win over Chadstone.

Another two votes for Tremewen against Dragons makes it hard for Calcedo who didn’t poll against Eley Park. Damon Marcon got two votes for the Blues which moves him inside the top 10.

Round 12 saw Tremewen pick up another two votes to extend his lead over Calcedo by 3. It’s really a race in two now. Burton would need to storm home to be a chance.

The battle for top spot heats up as both Tremewen and Calcedo both score maximum votes in there respected games. Tremewen and Calcedo both now break away from the rest of the group making a lead of 8 from second to third place. Top spot is now only separated by 1 vote as Tremewen is on 21 votes and Calcedo is on 20.
