TIM NOONAN RESIGNS AS FOOTBALL OPERATIONS MANAGER

The VAFA would like to confirm that General Manager of Football Operations, Tim Noonan has today resigned from his position and his last day will be Wednesday 22nd January 2014.
Mr Noonan has taken a position as an Acting Principal of St Patrick’s Mentone Catholic Primary School that will commence at the start of the 2014 school year.
VAFA CEO Michael Sholly was disappointed Mr Noonan would be leaving the Association but understood his passion and commitment to return to education.
“Tim Noonan has made a fantastic contribution during his two and half year stay with the VAFA. The competition has continued to develop under his leadership and he will be greatly missed,” said Mr Sholly.
Mr Noonan said of his departure: “My time at the VAFA has been some of the most enjoyable of my career as working in football administration is a privilege. To be responsible for running a prestigious competition such as the VAFA has been a role I have cherished; however, I am looking forward to this next opportunity in my career.”
“Managing a competition where you are trying to meet the demands of 74 clubs is not a role that should be taken lightly and I am very proud of our achievements.”
Mr Noonan confirmed there were many highlights in his time, but certain aspects about the role stood out: “Working as part of the VAFA’s representative program has been most enjoyable, assembling the best players in our competition to play for the Big V and seeing them succeed has been magnificent,” he said.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Michael Sholly and the staff as well as the Board led by Michael Hazell and before him Bruno Conti for both giving me this opportunity and their support over the past two and a half years.”
The position will be advertised on Monday 23rd December at  vafa.com.au and via other channels and the VAFA welcomes applications for the position of General Manager of Football Operations. All applications must be received by Friday 24th January 2014 to [email protected].
