A 70 strong SKOBFC contingent supported the Women’s Cancer Foundation’s fun run “We Can Walk it Out” on Sunday. Part of the massive turn out by SKOBFC for the Women’s Cancer Foundation fun run aimed at raising Ovarian Cancer Awareness.
This great turn out meant that the club raised $2,000 for Ovarian Cancer research. As one of the five sections of the Player Support Program SKOBFC will support various charities during 2014 This worthy cause was chosen as Ovarian Cancer has directly touched the lives of members of the SKOB community.
The uniting colour of Ovarian Cancer is teal so all participants were asked to wear a touch of teal which resulted in a sea of colour to achieve the awareness theme of “Turn the Tan Teal”.
St Kevin’s didn’t to badly on the track either, as the club had place getters in the Women’s 8 km and Men’s 4 km.
The club would like to thank and congratulate all participants and St Kevin’s OBFC throw out a challenge to other VAFA clubs to join them in 2015.
