The VAFA can confirm the Round 1 match ups for the Under 18 competition. See the fixture below.
With the Football Operations department working around the clock to complete the fixtures before round 1, they have release the Round 1 matches for the Under 18 Competition before completing the fixtures for the rest of the season this week.
In short, Mazenod will host South Melbourne Districts, St Bernard’s will host UHS-VU and Point Cook will host Williamstown CYMS, all at 9.20am.
The issue with completing fixtures has been ground availability and the VAFA and the affected clubs are trying to work with local councils to free up more venues for VAFA matches to take place. Councils across multiple municipalities have closed a number of grounds after the cricket season to perform works on and this has affected our club’s ability to host matches they normally would have.
