This week’s VAFA Radio Show is a packed Mother’s Day (eve) edition. Celebrating Women’s Round of the VAFA we speak with footballing mum Jennie Ball (Mother of Matthew at Old Xaverians and Luke at Collingwood) about all the years going to VAFA (and the odd AFL) matches to watch her sons play.
We chat to another Mum and new Box Hill North President Joan Lineham about how the Demons are travelling this year and also how she came to take on the role at the Division 4 club.
Our special guest this week is Channel 7 Newsreader Peter Mitchell who will reflect on his days in the VAFA at Peninsula Old Boys.
We also will have a special feature looking back 10 years to 2004 and the University Blues triple premiership triumph that year. Their premiership captain and 2004 Woodrow Medallist and the current Blues coach Quinton Gleeson will join us to reflect on 10 years ago.
We also speak to Old Xaverians coach Dom Berry about their start to the year and their huge game against Collegians later that day. (The match is 96.5FM’s match of the day for broadcast from 1.45pm).
Elsternwick captain Aaron Thornton will also join the panel to talk about the club’s fantastic first win last week.
It’s a huge two hour show and it all starts at 9am, only on 96.5 Inner FM. If you cannot pick up the show on your radio then you can stream the show at innerfm.org.au.
