
Round 11 Anytime Fitness Women’s Rising Star: Lucy Murphy

A VAFA squad of 49 has been named for the U19 representative match against the best U19 players from AFL Victoria Country.
The VAFA Under 19 team will again be coached by David Gately who successfully led the VAFA to a win over AFL Victoria Country in a thriller at the Junction Oval last year.
This year’s match against the Country will be played on Saturday July 12 in Geelong.
The squad has been drawn upon from clubs across five sections (Premier-Division 2) of the VAFA. There are 25 clubs represented from the five sections.
The breakdown of players from clubs in each section is: 23 players from Premier; 14 players from Premier B; 6 from Premier C; 3 from Division 1; and 2 from Division 2.
The squad will commence training next Wednesday 25th June at South Melbourne Districts’ Lindsay Hassett Oval in Albert Park at 6.30pm. The squad will train again the following Wednesday, before reverting to a Tuesday and Thursday night in the final week before the game.
