Division 1 action saw NOB/St Par’s continue to keep the pressure on in the pursuit of a double chance after they comfortably beat Bulleen Templestowe by 39 points.
Therry Penola secured a 74 point win over struggling MHSOB. Jarrod Bannister booted another 8 goals whilst Corey added six of his own for the Lions.
Old Mentonians held Whitefriars goalless for the first half in their 52 point win over the Friars.
Williamstown CYMS were on the lush surface and lavish surrounds of Burbank Oval and they had no problems acclimatising to the new surrounds in their 57 point win over Old Geelong. Molan booted five goals for the CY’s who skip two games clear of fourth spot with the win.
Yarra Valley caused one of the upsets of the season, defeating Prahran Assumption by 7 points at Toorak Park. The win has the Bushrangers (7th) just a game off the Two Blues in 4th.
In Division 2, Elsternwick caused the upset of the season with 32 point win over the previously undefeated Kew. Aaron Thornton booted four goals in a win that sees the Wicks skip a game clear of the relegation places.
Old Eltham were made to work every step of the way in a hard fought win over St Johns in Eltham. The Turtles home by 15 points with Ciavola booting four.
St Mary’s Salesian retain second spot after their 46 point win over a competitive Glen Eira.
Five goals from Mahoney helped South Melbourne Districts to a 35 point win over Monash Gryphons.
Old Paradians held off Ivanhoe in a thriller at the Garvey Oval, Paradians winners by 8 points.
In Division 3 Albert Park continued their sumptuous recent form with an eight goal win over Swinburne University. Swinburne were equal top two weeks ago but have now dropped a second consecutive week. Maunder booted fie goals for the Falcons in a win that moved them to a record of 5-6 for the year, just a game from the six.
St Francis Xavier continued their resurgence with an 11 point win over Aquinas. SFX led at every change and have moved up to 5th, whilst Aquinas have fallen two wins off top spot.
Eley Park Sharks secured a valuable 7 point win over Richmond Central to move a game clear of the the relegation places.
Hot on the Sharks heals are La Trobe University, who won their third game of the year, defeating Power House by 29 points.
Damon Marcon kicked 7 goals in Northern Blues’ 55 point win over UHS-VU. Blues remain a game clear on top of the Division 3 ladder, whilst UHS-VU slip to sixth.
Emmaus St Leo’s sit a game behind Blues after their 134 point win over South Mornington.
In Division 4, West Brunswick were back to their bet against Dragons as the Pies delivered 74 point win. Simpson booted four majors for West Brunswick as they remain outright second.
Five goals to Ince and four to Gold and more of the same for Hawthorn as they secured another big win, this time it was a 76 point triumph over North Brunswick.
Westbourne Grammarians kept their finals hopes alive with a 30 point win over Manningham Cobras. Davis was fantastic with five goals for the Grammarians.
Box Hill North are another team in finals contention and they demonstrated their credentials with a solid 36 point win over Point Cook.
Canterbury defeated Chadstone by 125 points, Baker and Chapman both kicked four goals in the win.
