Old Scotch have confirmed the appointment of Mark Passador as senior coach for the 2015 season.
Passador has been one of the leading forwards in Premier Section playing out of the goal square at Old Scotch for the past five seasons, kicking 44 goals in the 2014 season.
“Mark has demonstrated great leadership since he joined the club, and has shown a natural inclination to be a senior coach” said Old Scotch President, David McCleery.
Co-captain of the Cardinals in 2014, Passador demonstrated to all at the club his ability to and willingness to impart his football knowledge to teammates at every opportunity.
Passador has a long history in football working with a variety of coaches and players.
Commencing in professional football in the VFL with a premiership at Springvale, Passador was drafted to Carlton in the AFL and then moved to Box Hill Hawks where he played in the 2001 senior VFL premiership team.
Passador then spent seven years in the SANFL with Woodville West Torrens, where he was a team of the decade member, winning the goal kicking several times. He enjoyed premiership success with the club in 2006.
On the announcement of Passador as coach, the Cardinals also took the opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding work and commitment of Co-Coaches Dean Anderson and Stuart Powell over the past three seasons.
“Both Dean and Stuart were instrumental in creating a great club environment and were greatly respected both inside and outside the club.” said McCleery.
Old Scotch finished fourth each of the past three seasons after losing their first semi-final.
