James Wilson kicked a team-high four goals for Canterbury.
South Mornington has come-from-behind and snatched victory from Masala, running out 14-point winners in their clash at WJ Turner Reserve. In a match with multiple lead changes, South Mornington kicked three goals to Masala’s two behinds in the final term to claim victory. Jacob Smith was the best for South Mornington, while six goals from Jordan Toikalkin were not enough to snap his sides’ current winless streak.
Mt Lilydale managed to hold on by the narrowest of margins handing second-placed Point Cook their first loss of the year at Mt Lilydale’s College Sporting Ovals. Despite having 31 scoring shots to Point Cook’s 20, inaccurate kicking nearly cost the Rams dearly in their one-point win. Daniel Dimitriou snagged four on his way to a best-on-ground performance, giving the Rams their third win from their last three games.
Parkside and Box Hill North partook in a classic match of their own, with the Red Devils hanging on to defeat their more fancied opponent by two points at Pitcher Park. Bryan Vance chipped in for three goals for the victors, while the eight goals kicked by the Demons were spread around eight separate goal kickers.
Westbourne Grammarians dismantled North Brunswick to the tune of 113 points at Westbourne School Ground. Despite the Bulls’ solid form heading into the match, the Warriors tore them apart from the very first bounce. Dale Collins is currently making Division Four his own, backing up his 17 goals in his last outing with 11 again this week. Sitting in third position on the ladder, the Warriors look poised to knock off one of the big sides in the ensuing weeks and climb further up the ladder.
