The 9th Annual Big V Club Lunch promises to be a fantastic event this year. Tickets are now on sale for the Lunch to be held on Friday, 24 July at Melbourne’s RACV Club in the city.
The lunch is a great chance for all former players and officials of the Big V to gather and reflect on their times playing representative football. This year will be no exception with reunions for the teams of 1965, 1975, 1985, 1995 and 2005 all invited to attend the day with special tables designated for these teams.
This of course doesn’t stop people attending that played in other years too, so make sure you put the lunch in your diary and get along to a great afternoon.
The day of course is highlighted by the induction of players or officials to become Big V Champions or possibly elevated to become Big V Legends. This year the Old Xaverians champion Nick Burne and St Kevins (and formally Marcellin) champion of the 1990’s Robert Gross will be inducted as Champions of the Big V. There will also be an elevation, with the Old Melburnians superstar ruckman Rowan Brown to be elevated to become a Legend of the Big V.
Brown was inducted as a Champion of the Big V in 2008 and will be upgraded to a Legend on the back of his 16 games, including 2 carnivals in 1982 where he won the Carnval Medal and in 1985 when he was the captain.
Tickets to the 9th Annual Big V Club Lunch can now be purchased here. We look forward to seeing you on the day.
