Old Geelong Football Club opened its 2025 season in historic fashion, with its women’s side marking their first year in the William Buck Premier competition with two wins straight out

Emmaus St Leos extended their winning streak to 11 matches with a dominant 75-point win against Swinburne University at Bennettswood Sports Ground. The Animals were not threatened at any stage, scoring 38 times to the Razorbacks’ 18. Ryan Harding was the star, showcasing his immense talent up forward by kicking 13 goals in the win.
La Trobe University no longer sit bottom of the Division 3 ladder after they held on for a 13-point victory against Albert Park at La Trobe University’s Sporting Complex. Field kicked six goals in a match-winning performance, while Cattle snagged three for the Falcons.
West Brunswick registered their third win in a row with a 47-point win against Power House at Ransford Oval. Dylan Muscat kicked five for the Westies, who sit second on the ladder with nine wins from 10 matches.
Hawthorn climbed to fifth position on the ladder with a much-needed 25-point win against Eley Park Sharks in a high-scoring affair at Rathmines Road Reserve. With 35 goals kicked for the match, a nine-goal to five opening half proved the difference, with Kade Pargeter and Noel Bahnsen leading from the front and kicking four each for their respective sides.
