Old Geelong Football Club opened its 2025 season in historic fashion, with its women’s side marking their first year in the William Buck Premier competition with two wins straight out
Canterbury remains one of just three undefeated teams throughout the entire league following their 42-point win against Parkside at Canterbury Sports Ground. After an even first two quarters, a 10-goal to five second half blew the game out of the reach of the Red Devils. Andrew Baker continued his goal kicking form with five majors for the match.
Mt Lilydale continues to stay in touch with the top four on the back of their 47-point win against Manningham Cobras at Mt Lilydale Mercy College Sporting Ovals. Max Hampton starred for the Rams with four majors for the day. The win leaves them in sixth position on the ladder but only out of the top four due to percentage.
North Brunswick did a demolition job on South Mornington with a 135-point win at Allard Park on Saturday afternoon. Benjamin Gallagher was deadly in front of the big sticks, ramming home nine goals in a best-on-ground performance and solidifying his second spot on the goal kicking leader board. The win gives the Bulls a much-needed percentage boost in fifth position on the Division 4 ladder.
Point Cook has inflicted the worst possible pain upon Masala, keeping them scoreless and defeating the struggling side by 187 points at Saltwater Reserve. 52 scoring shots to nil is one of the most unbelievable score lines one is ever likely to read and something the Tigers will be embarrassed by. Rick Munn kicked the highest number of goals out of the Bulldogs’ 14 separate goal kickers, snagging a haul of seven.
Division 4 leading goal kicker Dale Collins has fallen three goals short of the century in Westbourne Grammarians’ 121-point win against Chadstone at Westbourne School Grounds. Needing 12 at the start of the match, Collins could only manage nine in his sides’ huge win and will have to wait until next week for his next chance to tonne up. The Warriors remain second on the ladder with a percentage of 278.8.
