Razorbacks cull Sharks as VU struggles continue in Division 3

Glen Eira put an end to Albert Park’s rich vein of form, defeating them by 22 points at Beaurepaire Pavilion. After an eight-goal to two first quarter, the Falcons fought back to lead by seven at the main break. However, the Saints were not done with and sent through eight goals to three in the second half to run over the top of their opponents. Jamie Doran dominated up forward and kicked five majors for the Saints.

La Trobe University lost to Aquinas by five points in a thriller at home this afternoon. Trailing by 43 points at the final break, the La Trobians kicked 6.5 to 0.3 in the final quarter to give themselves a chance at an unlikely victory. Aquinas remains third on the ladder, while La Trobe are second from the bottom based on percentage.

Swinburne University handed Eley Park Sharks a lesson in football and destroyed them by 76 points at St James Park. 38 scoring shots to 22 was the story of the day, with the Razorbacks kicking efficiently and finishing with 24.14. Thomas Kennedy led admirably for the Razorbacks, snagging a bag of five in the win.

UHS-VU continued their downward spiral following a 77-point drubbing at the hands of West Brunswick at Ransford Oval. Leading by two points at quarter time, the Vultures gave up 12 goals to one for the remainder of the match. Joel Beer was named best-on-ground for the Westies, while teammate Scott Hulm kicked four.
