The VAFA advises it will conduct a formal investigation into incidents which occurred in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s Round 16 match between Kew and Bulleen Templestowe at Victoria Park, Kew.
The incidents in question sparked a major melee between both sides, with the match abandoned midway through the final quarter.
The VAFA had six officials on site, each of whom will be present at tomorrow night’s hearing. Updates on proceedings will be published as soon as they become available.
The VAFA does not condone violence in any form and directs all players and spectators to its Player Code of Conduct, Spectator Code of Conduct and Coaches Code of Conduct policies.
The 2015 VAFA Code of Conduct “aims to provide young males with the opportunity to play an enjoyable and competitive game of Australian Rules football in a safe environment”.
Players, spectators and coaches are expected to abide by all Code of Conduct rules and behaviours at all times.
