The Victorian Amateur Football Association is throwing its support behind a Bayside City Council petition aimed at increasing state and federal government funding to help upgrade sporting infrastructure in women’s sport.
All members of the VAFA community are encouraged to sign the petition below and help give our girls the best chance to succeed in the sporting arena.
By Bayside City Council
“Lack of appropriate facilities for women and girls is an acknowledged barrier to their participation in sport.
Upgrading sporting infrastructure at the grassroots level will enable more women to participate in sport.
With Federal Financial Assistance Grants frozen for three years and the state government capping council rates, local councils can’t do it alone.
We call upon state and federal governments to increase their investment and accelerate the upgrade of sporting facilities to create a level playing field for women and girls.”
