Old Melburnians produced a stunning 43-point come-from-behind victory against St Bedes/Mentone Tigers to book themselves a spot in this year’s grand final and in William Buck Premier in 2016.
Trailing by 18 points at the main break, OMs piled on 13 goals to two in the second half to run away with the win at Sportscover Arena.
A dominant performance from Josh Freezer sparked the comeback, while four goals each to Alexander Armstrong and Cameron Beck decided the margin.
James Tyquin stood tall as the best player for the Tigers, who now fall to two straight finals losses. After finishing the home and away season in second spot on the Premier B ladder, the Tigers will use those memories and lessons learnt to spur them on and have another shot at promotion to William Buck Premier next season.
OMs will face an undefeated and refreshed St Kevin’s outfit in next Saturday’s highly-anticipated grand final after they earned the week off with a win in last week’s second semi-final.
