Shannon Kirby has been recognised for the dedication she shows as an umpire within the VAFA by taking out the Joanne Cox Award at the AFL Victoria Umpire Academy Dinner last night.

By Brian Woodhead – VAFA Head of Umpiring

“VAFA field umpire, Shannon Kirkby, was presented the Joanne Cox Award (for commitment & dedication to umpiring and supporting others, as voted by her peers) at the AFL Victoria Female Umpire Academy Dinner.

This topped off a great year for Shannon who was one of the field umpires for the Women’s Exhibition match at the MCG between Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs, before she completed her year by officiating the VAFA Div 3 Reserves grand final at Trevor Barker Oval.

All from within the VAFA community congratulate Shannon on her achievement.”
