It’s with profound sadness that the Club’s first communication for the new year is to advise members that our much loved and admired Past President, Rob Jakobi passed way on Friday after an extended battle with illness.
Rob was forced to stand down as President after guiding the Club to our most memorable 2013 Premiership to concentrate on his battle for what we all hoped would be a return to good health.
Both Rob and his wife Rosie were nominated to Life Membership of the Club at last year’s AGM after 10 years of involvement during which time they threw themselves into all things pertaining to the Club’s administration, while at the same time supporting sons Tom and Ben’s efforts on the football field.
Robs’ funeral is to be held at St.Andrews, Brighton next Friday the 15th January commencing at 2.30pm.
The service will be followed by a wake at the Brighton Beach Bowling Club with his family welcoming friends, parents and supporters in celebrating his life.
Our thoughts and heart felt affection go out to Rosie, Emma, Tom & Ben
