Eley Park were made to work for their four points against Box Hill North as they came back from 17 points down at quarter time to run out 53-point winners at Elgar Park. Dan Isaac and David Viola combined for 10 of the Sharks’ 19 goals, while Daniel Penny continues to lead from the front with three for the Demons.
A nine-goal to one opening half has led Masala to their first win of the season, defeating Chadstone by 100 points at Jordan Reserve. Brad Lovell starred with six goals, while Sam Freeman and Matthew Decarne added four each for Masala. Conversely, the bottom-placed Chadstone had just four goal kickers among their total of five for the game.
Mt Lilydale’s strong start to the season has continued with a 16-point win against Manningham Cobras at Mercy College. Rhett Singer was best one ground for the second consecutive week and Sean Gibson’s forward line nous was on show once again with three goals taking him to 10 for the year. Jacob Daley flew the flag for the Cobras as their strongest player.
The Westbourne train continues to roll along, this week cleaning up Point Cook to the tune of 66 points at Westbourne School Ground. Golden boot, Dale Collins, kicked six and the remaining 10 majors were shared between seven players. Mason Kip is a star for the Bulldogs and proved it once again with a first-class performance.
