Beaumaris remain an undefeated unit in Premier B after they defeated a valiant Old Haileybury in a seesaw battle at Banksia Reserve earlier today. Leading by 22 points at three quarter time, the Sharks were pushed to the final siren as the Bloods hit the lead late in the fourth. Stephen Milne backed up his six majors from last week with four, while Josh Ward kicked three. Peter Shallakis snagged three for the Bloods and James Paul dominated for the second time in three outings this season.
Old Brighton move to fifth spot on the Premier B ladder following their 21-point win against Hampton Rovers at Boss James Reserve. 11 goals to four in the first half ultimately spelt the end of any sniff the Rovers may have had despite outscoring the Tonners seven goals to five in the last two quarters. Harry Hill starred for the Tonners with three goals in a best-on-ground performance, while Nathan Smith was best for the Rovers with four.
Parkdale Vultures continued their impressive start to the 2016 season with a 44-point win against Monash Blues at Gerry Green Reserve. Leading by 12 points with one quarter to play, the Vultures hit the accelerator in fourth as they sent through five unanswered goals. Josh Manning was at his best and kicked a bag of five for the Vultures, while Gerard Gillian was named the Blues’ best for the second consecutive week. The Vultures enter the top four, while the Blues sit ninth and without a win.
