Warriors flex muscle against Rams, Dogs bite Bulls

Westourne Grammarians flexed their muscle against Mt Lilydale at Westbourne School Ground, defeating the Rams by 115 points in a match-up tipped to play out a lot closer than the end results suggests. Eight Warriors kicked two or more majors, with Dale Collins and Chris Hudson snagging four each. Conversely, Daniel Dimitriou was the sole multiple goal kicker for the Rams. The loss is the Rams’ third for the year and places them fifth on the Division 4 ladder, while the Warriors streak ahead unbeaten.

In another Round 6 blowout in Division 4, Eley Park Sharks proved far too strong for Masala with an 88-point victory at WJ Turner Reserve. Despite trailing by two points at quarter time, the Sharks galvanised and piled on 20 of the next 25 goals for the game.Noel Bahnsen backed up his seven from last week with five and four other Sharks chipped in with three each. Nick Cunningham was named best for Masala.

Point Cook remain one win behind Westbourne in second place on the Division 4 ladder after they defeated North Brunswick by 27 points at Allard Park. Bulldogs, Will Dawson and Jordan Lampi, combined for six goals while Peter Butler made it three for the third consecutive game for the Bulls.

26 goals, 11 goal kickers and 172 points separated Box Hill North and Chadstone in their clash at Jordan Reserve yesterday. Robbie Small bagged five in his first game for the season for the Demons, Aloma Abialor registered four and three others kicked three. Vinnie Smith snagged the one and only major for the Synners as they sit at the bottom of the ladder with a percentage of 10.28.
