La Trobe account for Power House, Parkside mirror Raiders

Hawthorn put their first loss of the season to Glen Eira behind them as they annihilated Aquinas to the tune of 114 points at Aquinas College. Kicking 18.18 themselves, the Hawks allowed just 1.6 against in a supreme defensive effort. Ross McDermott top scored with three goals, while the Hawks boasted another five goal kickers with two each. Brendan Burke kicked the only goal for the 10th-placed Bloods.

UHS-VU delivered their second consecutive victory with a 30-point win against Albert Park at Brens Oval. Nick Devereux, Cheyne Kelly and Ben Ryan combine for six goals for the Vultures, while James Brick stood tall for the Falcons as their best player.

La Trobe University are far and way the third best side in Division 3, this week accounting for Power House by 89 points at La Trobe Uni Playing Fields. 32 scoring shots to 13 helped the Trobers to their ninth win from 11 games, with their best players not named at the time of writing. Euan Edwards kicked two goals for the ninth-placed Power House.

12 goals straight in the first half helped South Melbourne Districts to a 47-point victory against Canterbury at Lindsay Hassett Oval this afternoon. Max Mitchell-Russell was a force in front the sticks with six majors for the Swans, and Elliot Costello was BOG. Mitch and Nick Szabo kicked two goals each for the Cobras, who sit two spots lower than the fourth-placed Swans in sixth.

Glen Eira’s unbeaten run continued 11 rounds into the season as they put Swinburne University away by 47 points at Packer Reserve. Julius Waras Carstensen kicked four and took his season tally to 36 for the Saints, while Thomas Kennedy snagged four goals for the Razorbacks.

In much the same vein as Old Paradians in Division 2, Parkside made it two in a row after winning their first for the year last weekend; this week defeating Elsternwick by 16 points at Pitcher Park. Trailing by three points at three quarter time, the Red Devils kicked six goals to three in the last as Thomas McKinlay starred on his way to six goals.
