Masala fought bravely in their Round 15 match-up against the ladder-leading Westbourne Grammarians, kicking 70 points but going down by 115 at WJ Turner Reserve. Dale Collins did his second consecutive goal kicking award no damage as he booted nine and went 12 ahead of next best. Benjamin Johnson (six) and Nicholas Schiano (four) combined for 10 for the Warriors, while Sam Freeman bagged six and Michael Tsivoulidis starred for the Tigers.
North Brunswick climbed for fifth place on the Division 4 ladder after they defeated Box Hill North by 80 points at Allard Park. Patrick Notaro bagged five goals for the Bulls, making it four or more in each of his last six outings. Rhys Mehlstaubler was excellent for the Demons and named their best for the third successive round.
24 goals from Jai Perrett (10), Stephen Donald (8) and Max Hampton (six) helped Mt Lilydale to a comprehensive 210-point victory against Chadstone at Jordan Reserve. Samual Hickey also bagged four for the Rams, while Division 4 scribe, Gav Southern, and David Fernandez kicked the only two goals for the Synners. The Rams are two games clear in third and hot on the tail of Point Cook in second.
Point Cook returned to the winner’s column with a 36-point win against Manningham Cobras at Koonung Reserve. 13 scoring shots to three in the first term set up the comfortable victory, as Will Dawson continued his sensational season with another six goals for the Dogs. Marcus Groves starred and was named best afield, while Adam Pianto fought hard for the Cobras.
