Old Mentonians booked their spot in the Division 1 Grand Final with a thrilling nine-point come-from-behind victory over Old Geelong at Sportscover Arena. Trailing by 16 points at half time, the Panthers kicked six of the next eight goals as Dustan Mills showed why he was in the U23 Big V side last year with four important goals. Lewis Oliver and Comrey Edgeworth did the damage around the ground for the winning side, while Tom Balcombe and Ryan Parsons kicked two each for Ogs. The win was the first for the Panthers over their rivals this season, with Ogs now set to suit up next weekend against the winner of PEGS and Therry Penola. It’s been a long road to Premier C for the Panthers, who had the longest current streak in one section without tasting ultimate success with their 14-year stint in Division 1.
