Brayden Haynes has officially tendered his resignation as senior coach of Beaumaris Football Club following his side’s 31-point Premier B Grand Final victory over St Bedes/Mentone Tigers just over a week ago.
Haynes resigns from the top job on a high after two years at the helm, leading both the seniors and reserves to premiership victories and back into the VAFA’s top section in 2017.
Since commencing his time with the Sharks as an Under 9 player, Haynes leaves with an impeccable reputation as a four-time Club Champion and premiership winning captain.
Citing family and business as his reason for stepping down, Haynes said he will be a Shark for life.
“I wish the club all the best for the season ahead in the VAFA Premier A division. The Club is in very good hands and is set up to be very successful for many years to come,” he said.
Upon accepting Haynes’ resignation, Club President John Murton said “it’s with a huge amount of regret and sadness that I accept Brayden Haynes’ decision to retire as Head Coach”.
This year Brayden proved what an outstanding coach he is and his contribution to our club over two and half decades cannot be measured. He will be missed enormously for his vision, his dedication and his incredible football knowledge.
I wish Brayden all the best for the future in the knowledge that the BFC door is always open.”
As a consequence, the search for a new Senior Coach will begin immediately.
