Ogs demolish Hoers, CYs stave off gallant Bears

12 goals to one in the opening half paved the way for Old Geelong to a monster 104-point victory over Old Ivanhoe at Como Park. 36 scoring shots to seven showcased the Ogs desire to return to the winners’ list after a disappointing one-point loss to Hampton Rovers last week. Callum Wood (four) and Jock Grimshaw (four) led the way in front of goal for Ogs, while Edward Keach (one) starred in a BOG display. They now sit in fifth spot on the ladder after three wins from their past five starts. Carl Groth (three) played a lone hand for the Hoers as they failed to deliver in a match they would have expected a better showing. They are eighth on the ladder with three wins but a percentage of 72.31.

In other Round 7 games, Caulfield continued their high-scoring ways with a 74-point victory over Marcellin, while Old Mentonians snapped a three-game losing streak and defeated Old Camberwell by 25 points. Seven goals from John Nicolopoulos led Old Haileybury to a dominant 91-point win over Hampton Rovers at Princes park Caulfield, and Kew showcased their best football for the year but came up short against Williamstown CYMS by 33 points.
