Two Blues take top spot, Unicorns break winless streak

Prahran Assumption jumped to the top of the Division 2 ladder as they defeated the previously unbeaten West Brunswick by nine points at Ransford Oval. Leading by 15 at three quarter time, the Two Blues were headed by a valiant Westies but managed to hold despite giving up four goals to three. James Musster has hit serious form for the Two Blues with his second consecutive BOG performance and Jack Matherson top-scored with two goals. Will Sadler impressed for the Westies as they now hold down second spot on the ladder.

11 unanswered goals in the second half saw Emmaus St Leo’s blow past Hawthorn AFC to the tune of 69 points at Bennettswood Reserve, with Christopher Beluszar returning to the Animals’ line-up and booting six goals. MHSOB broke a five-game winless streak with a 14-point victory over Eltham Collegians, while Yarra Old Grammarians proved too strong for Glen Eira as they ran out 45-point winners. Old Paradians won their third game from four outings as an accurate 12.7 allowed them to run out 37-point victors against Bulleen Templestowe.
