2024 Division 2 Men’s Team of the Year

North Brunswick continued their unbeaten run in Division 4 with an emphatic 140-point win over Mt Lilydale at Allard Park. 48 scoring shots to eight tells the story of the one-sided affair, with Peter Butler (7) and Jake George (6) the main destroyers up forward with 13 between them. Simon Mair (1) and Gavin W Livingston were outstanding for the Bulls while Tim Legg and Sean Gibson (1) were the best for the Rams. The Rams are now a game and a half outside the top four.
Aquinas proved far too strong for Parkside as they ran our 83-point winners and secured their ninth victory of 2017. Liam Whelan led the way in front of goal again with a bag of six taking his season tally to 52 from 10 games, while coach Ash Naulty registered four. Thomas McKinlay kicked two and was the best of the Red Devils, who are eighth and have just one win for the year.
Eley Park Sharks secured fourth spot on the ladder and their fourth consecutive win, defeating St Francis Xavier by 78 points at St Francis Xavier College. Jesiah McGarvie’s goal kicking form impressed again with a bag of eight and David Viola nailed six for the Sharks. Jake Cowan was far and away the best player for the X-Men with four goals and they remain in ninth spot with one win for the year.
