Perth retain silverware despite desperate late Big V surge

The VAFA congratulates Beaumaris and Big V young gun, Max Williams, who has been named the Round 18 Men’s Rising Star nominee after his standout performance for the Sharks during their 34-point win over St Bedes/Mentone Tigers on the weekend.
What the club said:
“Max commenced his career at Beaumaris Football Club in the U9s and debuted in the U19s in 2015. During this time Max was also with the Sandringham Dragons, showcasing his talent from a young age.
He played his first game with the senior team in Round 1 this season and played every game thereafter. Max was selected for and played with this year’s VAFA U19 representative team and he featured in the best players.
Max models his game on Marcus Bontempelli from Western Bulldogs and his strengths are his intercepting, pack marking and running the lines.
He is the son of 150-game club legend Ian Williams and we congratulate him on his nomination.”
