Old Ivanhoe inject elite experience into new coaching set-up

Old Ivanhoe moved one step closer to ending a four-season stint in Premier C by securing an A-Grade coaching panel led by former captain, Jarrod Gieschen.

Gieschen, who played 175 games for the Hoers, will be joined by AFL-experienced trio, Jeff Gieschen, John Stevens and High Performance Coach, David Buttifant.

Read Old Ivanhoe’s release below:

“Old Ivanhoe Grammarians Football Club is pleased to announce that Jarrod Gieschen has been appointed Senior Coach for 2018.

Jarrod is a former captain and premiership player who played 175 games for Old Ivanhoe in a stellar career of amateur football. Jarrod is also a senior executive with Mazda Australia.

Jarrod will be supported by:

  • Jeff Gieschen (Director of Coaching) former Richmond senior AFL, Maffra, Wodonga, West Perth and Geelong AFL assistant coach;
  • John Stevens (Senior Assistant Coach) former Sydney Swans AFL player and Old Ivanhoe premiership player; and
  • David Buttifant (High Performance Coach) former Richmond AFL player and Sport Science Director at Collingwood and Carlton Football Clubs.
