2024 Division 2 Men’s Team of the Year
Division 2 Men’s was, without question, one of the most interesting sections in all of the VAFA throughout 2024. Brunswick set the early pace, winning 14 of their first 15,
The fixture for the newly-formed Premier B (Blue) has been released ahead of the 2018 VAFA season.
With two Premier B sections this season (Blue & White), Blue will have a reserves competition and White will not.
Brunswick Renegades will start as hot favourites for the Blue competition and will meet Collegians in their Round 1 opener. The Renegades were placed into Premier B following a debut VAFA season in William Buck Premier, while the Lions make the jump after falling just one point short in their Development Division 2 preliminary final against Old Carey.
St Mary’s Salesian and Old Camberwell will face off in the most anticipated game of Round 1 after both sides claimed premierships in Development Division 1 and 2 last year.
West Brunswick fell just one point short of a grand final victory against the Saints, and will face reigning Development Division 3 premiers Mazenod. The Nodders trailed by four points late in their decider against Old Mentonians before Julia Bortoli kicked a clutch go-ahead goal with just two minutes remaining on the clock, handing the Nodders an unbelievable victory.
The final game of Round 1 will be Monash Blues and Old Geelong after both sides missed finals in Development Division 1 last year. The Oggettes will enter with a mild confidence after claiming two wins over the Blues by an average of 9.5 points.
