‘Tread Together’ for suicide prevention

By VAFA Media · May 23, 2018
‘Tread Together’ for suicide prevention

From Friday 25 May to Saturday 26 May 2018, VAFA sponsor Anytime Fitness, in partnership with Suicide Prevention Australia, will be hosting ‘Tread Together’; a national community suicide prevention event held across hundreds of communities and involving thousands of Australians.

Tread Together is a 24 hour community treadmill challenge, which was founded in Maroubra, Sydney in 2013. To be part of Tread Together, we are encouraged to “run, walk, dance and have fun” all for the purpose of raising awareness and funds for suicide prevention.

Anytime Fitness gyms across the country are fully supporting event partner Suicide Prevention Australia (SPA) in their work to provide national leadership for the suicide prevention sector in Australia. Through the success and awareness built from Tread Together, we are able to meaningfully reduce suicide in Australia by developing a community that knows how to ask for help and how to give help.

If you want to make your move, and support or participate in ‘Tread Together’, please click the following link for more information.

You do not need to be an Anytime Fitness member to participate in this fantastic initiative, so if you or your club want to get involved, please donate now and/or register a timeslot to jump on one of the dedicated Tread Together treadmills at your local Anytime Fitness. The VAFA HQ team will be in on the action and moving for the cause this Friday, and we hope you will show your support too!

Stay tuned to VAFA social media on Friday afternoon to see the staff in action.
