North Brunswick is now three games clear of their closest competitor in Division 4 after they defeated South Melbourne Districts by 58 points at Allard Park. The Bulls trailed by three points at the first break but accelerated with 14 goals to five thereafter. Andrew Ramzy led all comers with five goals for the Bulls while Patrick Notaro returned for his first game since Round 1 with a BOG performance. Jesse Andrew and Blaise Bajram kicked three goals each for the Swans as they now fall to 6-3 on the back of three consecutive losses.
After kicking 14 goals last week, South Mornington sharp shooter Travis French led the Tigers to a 40-point win over Mt Lilydale with another bag of 10 this week. French has now kicked 24 in his past two games and 44 for the season. The Tigers led by just two points at three quarter time but nailed six unanswered goals in a strong fourth term. James Renwick was a standout alongside French, while Sean Gibson kicked four goals for the Rams. The Tigers have now won three in a row and four of their past five to sit sixth and just one spot below the Rams.
Elsternwick returned to form and ended a three-game losing streak as they defeated Masala by 104 points at Fotheringham Reserve. Leading by 10 points at quarter time, the Wickers exploded with 21 of the last 27 goals, with gun forward Julian Yeatman booting a season-high 11. Scott Grace chipped in with four in his first senior game of 2018 for the Wickers, while Janahan Kumaralingam and Brandon Kelly each recorded two goals for the Tigers. The Wickers are 3-6 and in eighth spot at the midway point of the season, two spots above the winless Tigers.
Parkside climbed into third spot on the Division 4 ladder after they defeated St Francis Xavier by four points at Pitcher Park. The Red Devils trailed at every break throughout the match but edged past the X-Men with three goals to one in the fourth. Adamo Gargano and Marco Creek were outstanding for the Red Devils, while Tim Shepherdson and Stephen Richards-Gill were named the best for the second-placed X-Men.
Eley Park Sharks recorded their second win in a row, running out five-goal winners over Box Hill North at Elgar Park. The Sharks led from the first break to the final siren but were made to work for it when the Demons kicked six goals to four in the last term. Christopher Brown kicked three goals for the Sharks and Bradley Tonkies was named best afield, while Sam Kenna fought hard for the Demons.
