Old Trinity were convincing victors in a 49-point thumping of a struggling Old Xav’s outfit at Hudson Oval Playing Fields. The match was one-sided from the beginning, with Old Trinity leading 24-0 by half time, with Old Xav’s finding it difficult to hit the scoreboard. Xav’s were able to crawl back kicking two goals in the third term. Trinity’s Amanda Fogarty was important up forward booting 2.3 for her side, as was Sarah Cowley with 1.1 and 15 touches, along with Ruby Dillon’s impressive 29 disposals and 2 goals. Old Xav’s Emily Archer attained 16 touches along with Tiara Annear’s 15, while Amy Livingstone was a solid contributor in her side’s defeat. Old Trinity have endured an up and down season, unable to consecutively string wins together, however they surge past Fitzroy-ACU now into 5th spot, while Old Xav’s remain in 7th spot on the ladder after a tough season to date.

Marcellin v Fitzroy-ACU (3.12 30 – 1.0 6)
Marcellin College played host to the reigning premiers and Fitzroy-ACU, with Marcellin claiming a convincing 24-point victory. The Sheagles blitzed past the struggling Fitzroy-ACU girls, who as a collective unit only managed one scoring shot for the whole match. Marcellin were not at their best accuracy wise, kicking 3.12, but they dominated the scoreboard and ran out eventual winners comfortably. Several Sheagles players contested well including Shae Gee and Nat Gills, while Laura Robertson covered the ground well, amassing 20 disposals and a goal, and Ellie Gavalas attained 14 touches and proved to be a dangerous target up forward. Lauren Atkinson and Jess Hayes were named best for the Roy girls, while Lucy Kerr raked up 18 disposals.

SKOB v Caulfield Grammarians (7.10 52 – 0.4 4)
Caulfield Grammarians were not able to back up their victory against SKOB earlier in the season and fell considerably short by a drastic 48-point margin at Basil St Reserve. Caulfield were goalless for the entirety of the match with some mediocre set shot kicking impeding their scoreboard impact. However, SKOB came out firing and succeeded in fine form, further cementing their spot in the top four. Margaret Gleeson was relentless up forward kicking 1.2 and attaining 21 disposals, Alexandra Hynes was impressive in the ruck with 47 hitouts, as well as Sarah Cameron with 19 touches and Georgia Cropley kicking 2.1 and racking up 18 disposals. Eliza Straford and Bree Doyle were also influential with 15 touches a piece. Keirice Farley fought hard for all four quarters in the backline earning herself an impressive 25 touch tally for Caulfield, while Breanna Arnold was best in her side’s defeat throughout the midfield with 23 disposals. SKOB continue their second half of the season surge up the ladder, jumping past Kew with their 7th victory, alongside Marcellin and Melbourne Uni, while Caulfield remain at the bottom of the table.

Melbourne Uni v Kew (6.7 43 – 4.3 27)
Melbourne University proved too strong for the Kew in this highly anticipated clash, winning by 15 points. The Bears displayed momentum early and led at the quarter time break having kicked 2 goals to 1, however Melbourne Uni fought back to take the lead at the main break by two points. Throughout the second half Melbourne Uni showcased more fire power up forward and by the end of the match nearly doubled the scoring shots of Kew. Mietta McDonald, Caitlin Greiser and Lisa Di Camillo all kicked 2 goals a piece and were influential contributors for the Mugars in front of goal, while Alanna Dalley, Leah Caluzzi and Elyce Hay all impressed in their side’s victory. Dani Calautti and Michaela Harding both won the ball considerably more than any player with 26 touches each, while Dani Sibosado was also a prominent performer in her side’s loss. Melbourne Uni continue their climb to top spot on the ladder in the hope of jumping past Marcellin before finals, both now with 7 wins, 2 losses and a draw a piece, while Kew drop to 4th spot with 6 wins and 3 losses.
