Beaumaris made it seven wins on the trot in Round 11 of Premier B White as they defeated Old Carey by 99 points at Carey Sports Complex. Leading by 35 points at the main break, the Sharks blitzed their opponents with 10 unanswered goals in a dominant second half. Ellie Hearne (4), Sienna Tedde (3) and Thea Brown (3) combined for 10 of their side’s 17 goals, while Ashleigh Harvie kicked one in a best-on-ground display. Marli Wilkinson (2) was a lone Panther with their only two goals as their best player. The Sharks are the form side of the competition having knocked off the Stars a few weeks ago while the Panthers have two wins for the year.
16 scoring shots to one helped Scotch Stars to their 10th win from 11 games, defeating Ajax by 40 points at Camberwell Sports Ground. Anna Hayes and debutant Sarah Henderson kicked two goals each for the ladder leaders, while Lucy Morley was best afield. Isabella Burstin and Daniella Abraham fought hard for the Jackettes despite their inability to hit the scoreboard in a significant way.
Old Mentonians kept their final four aspirations alive as they ran over Hampton Rovers by 16 points at Keysborough Playing Fields. Trailing by a goal at quarter time, the Panthers kicked four unanswered in a game-wining second term. Big V representative Hannah Stuart booted two goals for the Panthers and Lauren Myers-Snyders dominated in a BOG display. The Rovers shared their three goals between Bianca Lenarcic, Caitlin McLaren and Tarryn Hurst but ultimately remain winless as they get ready to face off with Carey this weekend.
Old Brighton kept in touch with the top two after they defeated Old Haileybury by 11 points at Brighton Beach Oval. Two unanswered goals in the second term proved the difference, with Katie Grant leading the way with a BOG performance. Pulomaja Gardiyawasam continued her outstanding season for the Hearts as their best player.
