The VAFA congratulates Maddi Wilson on her nomination as the Round 12 Anytime Fitness Rising Star following her three goals & standout performance for SBMT in their 41-point win over Therry Penola.
What the club said:
“Maddi has played football since U13 mixed. Maddi began playing football with her twin sister Georgia, who has always had a passion for football.
She has her own silky style, however we can’t go past mentioning that her mentor is Katie Brennan. Her ability to run to space and her accuracy in kicking goals. She’s a very smart footballer.
Maddi is renowned for her leadership and dedication. She has always shown a level of maturity and leadership beyond her years. She also loves giving back to our club through mentoring our junior girls and assisting in coaching roles for our junior girl teams. Very much a team player.
Maddi comes from a very football passionate and proud family. Her twin sister Georgia is assistant coaching our senior women’s team this season and has a very promising coaching career ahead of her. Her Mum Charlotte is also a huge contributor around the club and very passionate about women’s football and the journey her girls are on.
Maddi this year has been drafted to the VFLW team Darebin Falcons.”
