Old Carey will re-enter William Buck Premier for the first time since 2016 after they narrowly defeated University Blacks by four points at Elsternwick Park.
In one of the most exciting quarters of football for the year, both sides went goal-for-goal in the final term until Jason Ashby kicked a goal with less than a minute remaining to claim the win for the Panthers.
Morgan Evans was outstanding and kicked three of his four goals in a match-winning performance in the final term. Liam Mackie starred with three goals throughout the day, while Ashby had the ball on a string.
Young gun Campbell Moorfield gave his best game for the Blacks while Lachlan Huntington finished with three goals.
The Panthers will now face off with St Bernard’s in next Saturday’s Premier B Grand Final.
