In terms of community football awards, it doesn’t come much bigger than the Victorian Amateur Football Association’s Woodrow Medal.
The award has been presented to the best and fairest player in the VAFA’s top section since 1927 and will be awarded tonight for the 85th time. The event will take place at Crown’s River Room and recognises both male and female VAFA footballers, as well as umpires which includes the prestigious Umpire of the Year award.
The 2018 Grill’d Men’s Rising Star will be announced along with the presentation of medals to all section Best & Fairest winners and the Premier Coaches MVP.
In what has been one of the most exciting seasons in recent memory, the award is sure to go down to the wire.
Tune in to 96.5 Inner FM or innerfm.org.au tonight from 7pm to listen to the count and get involved on social media using the hashtag #VAFAMedals.
