Plunkett takes reins at Old Paradians

Old Paradians announced a change at the helm, with former Parade College student Phil Plunkett taking the senior coaching reins upon the side’s return to Division 1 in 2019.

The Raiders, who earnt promotion following a grand final appearance against UHS-VU, will look to solidify their position in Division 1 after suffering relegation in 2016.

Read the club’s full post below:

The Old Paradians Amateur Football club is pleased  to announce Phil Plunkett will be our senior coach  in 2019 after promotion to Division 1 in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). Phil replaces Ryan Smith who recently announced his retirement after two years in the role and having coached the club to a grand final  in 2018.

‘We are thrilled to have someone of Phil Plunkett’s calibre join our club as head of the coaching group.  Phil has an extensive and highly successful playing and coaching record.  Phil is also a past student and decorated player of AFL rules at Parade College.

‘We have built a strong culture of improvement in recent years and everyone understands what is needed if we are going to achieve our longer term goal of winning premierships and lifting our club into the higher grades.’ said Mike

‘The recruitment of Phil Plunkett as our senior coach is another important element  in achieving our long term goals.  We believe Phil will add significant value to our club in the coming years.’  Mike added.
