Want to gain real-world experience in the sports media industry? Want exposure to Australia’s largest senior men’s AND women’s football competition? Want to create professional networks and career pathways?
The VAFA is looking for volunteers to join its media team for the 2019 season.
The VAFA is Australia’s largest senior community football competition with 73 clubs and more than 13,000 men’s and women’s players across metropolitan Melbourne, and we pride ourselves on informing our community across all forms of media.
We’re seeking dedicated volunteers to cover our senior men’s and women’s competitions in both print and online media.
These positions provide a fantastic opportunity for sports media and journalism students looking for real-world experience in the sports media industry, while also allowing VAFA supporters & club representatives the chance to use their knowledge of the competition to provide in-depth analysis to a wider audience.
Amateur Footballer/VAFA.com.au Scribes: The positions available require the successful applicants to compile a written report (800 words) on a complete section of the VAFA each week for our historically significant weekly record, The Amateur Footballer and for VAFA.com.au.
Articles will be published each round of the VAFA season both in the record and on the VAFA website and promoted across all forms of social media.
To apply for the above positions, please send your resume and an example of your work to Head of Media, Nick Armistead, at [email protected] or Media, Marketing & Events Coordinator, Alisha Min, at [email protected]
