The VAFA congratulates Cecilia Baldassarre who has been nominated as the Round 7 Anytime Fitness Rising Star following her two goals and BOG performance against Old Carey on the weekend.
What the club said:
“Cecilia (“Cece”) played 48 games for Ivanhoe Junior Football Club, and she has spent most of her junior sporting life combining both football and basketball. Cece was encouraged to come down to OIGFC by her Ivanhoe Grammar School friends.
Cece is a mad Hawthorn fan and has very similar skills to Jarrod Roughead. In addition, she also has the goal sense of Cyril Rioli. Cece is a beautiful left foot kick, has excellent hands allowing for strong contested marking skills and she can snap a goal from anywhere.
For being first and last off the track, spending extra time with the coaches working on her kicking craft, Cece is very coachable and has adapted to playing against stronger/older players extremely well.”
