Men’s Rising Star Nominee: Round 11

The VAFA congratulates Old Carey and Big V defender, Cooper Leon, who has been named the Round 11 Rising Star nominee following his outstanding 27-disposal performance against Collegians.

“Cooper started playing for Old Carey in 2019 with Round 1 being his senior debut v De La Salle.

He plays like Nick Vlastuin (Richmond Football Club) with a strong overhead for an undersized defender. His strengths are that his one-on-one defending and rebounding from half back is elite.

He is renowned for his dedication to training and his quiet and focused demeanour.”
