The Victorian Amateur Football Association is delighted to announce the appointment of Matt Collister, Matt Dervan and Lana Ryan to the VAFA staff.
Lana Ryan (Media, Marketing & Events Coordinator)
Our newly appointed Media, Marketing and Events Coordinator Lana Ryan joins the VAFA after completing a Bachelor of Arts from Melbourne University with a double major in French and Media Communications.
For the past four years, Lana has been a Seasonal Rowing Coach at Wesley College and this year completed internships in PR and Marketing. She has recently interned for Time Auction Melbourne – a charity that connects young people with inspiring leaders while simultaneously encouraging volunteerism.
Matt Collister (Football Operations Manager)
Matt will fill a newly formed role in the VAFA operations department as Football Operations Manager, joining us after four and a half years as Broadcast Operations Executive at the AFL.
He is more than familiar with the Amateurs after spending three years as part of the coaching group for Old Geelong from 2015-17 and captaining Old Melburnians U19’s in 2008.
Matt Dervan (Umpire Operations Manager)
Matt, who has been appointed Umpire Operations Manager, is well-known within the umpiring community as a current AFL Goal Umpire and former Operations Administrator for the VAFA.
He has been employed as the Football Operations Manager for the Western Jets for the past three seasons and is the current Treasurer and First XI premiership player for Williamstown Cricket Club.
The VAFA is excited to welcome all three into HQ and they will commence working in January 2020.
