Williamstown CYMS has wasted no time in their pursuit of Premier B success after re-signing premiership coach, Mat Montebello, for the 2021 season.
Montebello, who is both the Senior Coach and Director of Coaching for the CY’s, was named Premier Men’s Coach of the Year in 2019 after leading the CY’s to an undefeated Premier C season.
In a statement from CY’s President Steph Payne on the club website yesterday, she said “since winning the Premier C premiership and coming out undefeated champions for 2019, Mat had been working hard to recruit players for the 2020 season”.
“Mat kept the senior men’s team training and motivated during the Covid period, right up to the cancellation of the season last week.
“For Mat and the club there is unfinished business in men’s Premier B that will motivate and drive the club forward in 2021.”
The 2020 season was set to be the club’s first in Premier B in its 37-year history in the VAFA.
