Football Operations Team
The VAFA Football and Umpire Operations Team have transitioned from operational mode to a project driven focus since the 2020 season was cancelled. This feature will provide stakeholders an insight into what new initiatives and projects will be implemented short term and long term in VAFA Football and Umpiring.
In this first edition, we wish to share our new advisory groups, setup as an extension to the Football, Growth, and Integrity Sub-Committee of the VAFA Board with the key focus to increase our collaboration with VAFA Clubs.
The women’s football advisory group has been in operation since March, advising the VAFA on on-field and off-field issues and concerns impacting women’s football in the VAFA. The advisory group comprises representatives and expertise from a range of VAFA clubs and agenda items so far have included:
The advisory group will also use surveys and focus groups to obtain useful data to help improve and progress women’s football in the VAFA.

The word of the weekend as the VAFA celebrated the Centenary Year of the Big V was ‘heightened’. It’s a word that could be used to describe a host of
