Old Paradians v Bulleen-Templestowe

At home at the Garvey the OP’s raced out of the blocks in the first term and were never headed. After an even second quarter the Bullants were unable to control the likes of Cafari (4), Gilmour (4) and Nolan up forward in the second half. The visitors held their own and finished with a solid four quarter performance this week, but with the OP’s Toperosa, Philp and Girolami having excellent games the home team ran out convincing winners. For the Buallants Mainiero & Fraumano stood out.

MHSOB v Power House

The High went to work form the opening bounce against the House with the visitors unable to match the home team across the field. A healthy 35 point lead at the first break gave all present signs were ominous as the High went from strength to strength in the final three quarters. While the House battled hard in all facets of the game and made a better showing on the scoreboard the High did as they pleased powering home to win by plenty. Dowling (8) and Braithwaite (7) were unstoppable for the Unicorns, while Scotland, Miller and Robinson were better players for the House.

Glen Eira v Manningham Cobras

At home and keen to assert their dominance from the first bounce the Gryphons jumped the Cobras from the outset. 8 shots on goal to 2 was just the start as the Gryphons held the Cobras not only scoreless in the second but goal less nonetheless. With multiple avenues to goal through the likes of Barda (5), Drenth (4) and McDonald (3) the visitors, try as they might, simply ran out of defensive options. Bendrups, Flood (1) and Morris fought hard for the vanquished, while for the Gryphons the Carey’s and Schiller were prominent all day.

West Brunswick v Aquinas

The Westies at home and on a fast deck were too strong for the visiting Bloods at Parkville. Once again, the home team took the ascendency from the start and were never headed. While the likes of Aver (2) and Robinson (2) were dangerous up forward and with the support of Haylock, Barnes and Burdett across the day the Bloods can hold their heads high. However, it was once again Yacoub and Mahoney who led from the from front for the winners, with Wall (5) captalising on the good work up field.

Ivanhoe v Yarra Old Grammarians

After an even first quarter where the Bushrangers took the game right up to the Hoes, with Chipman, Letson and Hall in everything, the Hoes steadied in the second with Close (7) a key target up forward. After half-time the home team through the great work of Schultz, Thomson & Geary kicked into gear and added 12 goals to 5 to secure an important victory after a few recent losses. Harbeck (4) was the main target up forward for the Bushrangers, who will be rueing not finishing the game as they begun.

Old Paradians v Aquinas

OP’s at the Garvey again will present a major problem for the visiting Bloods. Recent form points to an OP’s victory, however the last time the Bloods ventured out to the Garvey in 2019 they came away with the premiership – so the ground certainly holds no fears. While the Bloods boast the likes of Aver, Reid, Robb and Smith, the OP’s with Watson, Brock, Money and Mitris in form and at home the OP’s will continue on their winning way.

Manningham Cobras v Ivanhoe

The Cobras will be licking their wounds after a mauling at the hands of the top team Glen Eira last week. At home the Cobras will come out smarting and every contest will be hard fought, particularly with the likes of Raso, Bell and McQueen never keen to give an inch. The Hoes, with Geary, Lagreca, Roberts and Mitchell in great touch, will be well aware that another win away will entrench them firmly in the four and with too many avenues to goal will pull away after an even first half.

MHSOB v Yarra Old Grammarians

The free wheeling Unicorns at home again will prove a real handful for the Bushrangers who gave a solid account of themselves last outing. Across the field the High will hold too many aces and with multiple avenues to goal being the major challenge for the visitors. While de Ward, Trend and the Goldsmiths will make life hard for the home team, Unicorns in the form of Suhr, Growse, Wilson and Rendell will make certain they get the four points.

Power House v Glen Eira

Tough ask for the House even at the Ross Gregory against the ladder leaders. There will be no love lost between these two after recent off-season transfers and a healthy rivalry to boot. The House will need to lock down hard on the Gryphons mid-field in order to reduce supply forward, and while a better side at home the House will need huge games from Miller, Dyer, Condon, Walker et al to keep the Gryphons at bay by the lake. Watch out also for the in-form Gryphons the Carey’s, Richardson and Bass. Visitors will be too strong after an even first half.

Bulleen-Templestowe v West Brunswick

With the Bullants back on home turf and a solid four quarter performance last week they will tackle the visiting West Brunswick with confidence. For the Bullants to win they will require a strong four quarter performance and a man on man approach to combat the run and gun style of the Westies. The Moio brothers, Mamone, Verga, Harisiou and Parris will give no quarters and play a disciplined brand of attacking football, however the Westies boast an even 22 and with Fowler, Jones, Lewis and Doody in form the visitors will have too much firepower.
